Ing. arch. Jan Kupka
Jan Kupka joined OM Consulting as head of Design & Architecture in 2020. The team he leads focuses on providing developers and investors with design and drafting services ensuring that clients get the functional and aesthetic criteria they want at a cost they are expecting.
He has more than 20 years’ design experience gained as an independent architect on projects such as Villa “Pod Habrovou” in Barrandov, The Kunětická Hora Golf Resort (a residential complex), and a cross-dock hall in Česká Třebová, as well as from his collaboration with large studios such as AED Project, a.s., including projects for a brewery in Kaunas, Šlikova and Jeseniova apartment buildings, and preparation of a planning permit for the Grafická Street residential project (Smíchov, Prague).
Looking back on the results he has achieved in design competitions, Jan Kupka particularly values his prize for the design of the Four Seasons Hotel in Křižovnická Street (Prague’s Old Town), his advancement to the second round of a competition for the expansion of the Prado Museum in Madrid, and his participation as a finalist in the competition for the Metrostav office building in Thámova Street (Karlín, Prague) and in a competition for a gallery of the Jan and Meda Mládek Foundation – The Kampa Museum in Prague’s Lesser Quarter.
From 2013 to 2019, he was the chief designer at PWI/Globus ČR. A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague, he obtained his licence as certified architect in 1997. He has taught at Prague’s Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design and College of Regional Development. Jan Kupka is fluent in English.
